Beauty tycoon, fashionista and one of our very own leading internationally renowned stylists, Nabila, was kind enough to answer a few of our questions post Bridal Couture Week 2015 about her line of work as well as her latest collaboration with L’Oreal to recreate their Legend’s Collection looks.
With thirty years of countless experience, Nabila has been seen not only as the official hair and makeup stylist for several Couture shows, but also an innovator in our very own local beauty industry. Recently Nabila introduced her very own “No Make-up Palette” which took ten years of research to procure, as she wanted to create the ideal product for Pakistani skin. Furthermore she recently introduced Magicurls, a SUPER cool tool that makes curling hair super quick and easy (I personally love this! Bye-bye curling tongs and burnt fingers.)

All about the L’Oreal Paris Legend’s Collection Collaboration:
-You recently collaborated with L’Oreal Paris Excellence Crème in recreating three legendary women: Madam Noor Jehan, Babra Sharif, and Tahira Syed. What was your favorite Excellence Crème Legend’s hair color used in the campaign?
I am a huge fan of Excellence Crème hair color because of its triple protection and rich color. It often leaves the hair feeling nourished and glossy. Color-wise I think Excellence Crème Ash blonde 7.1 would be my pick. It’s the color we chose for Babra Sharif for the Excellence Crème Legends’ Collection. It’s got a very chic and upbeat look about it!
-The Legends’ Collection draws inspiration from three iconic women who are known for their beauty and sense of style. How did you capture and recreate each one of their distinct styles in this shoot?
The three legendary women captured in the Excellence Crème shoot all have their iconic styles that they are recognized for. With Madam Noor Jehan we selected the Excellence Crème light mahogany brown 5.5 to capture her bold persona while styling it in a way to magnify her elegance, with a dash of glamorous makeup. We took a very modern take on Babra Sharif with a slick hairdo that brought out the color Excellence Crème Ash Blonde 7.1and really captured the chic side of the star. Tahira Syed was depicted in a royal fashion with classy and traditional makeup and dark Excellence Crème Brown 4 hair color to match.
-If you had to describe these three iconic women in one word, what would it be?
-How do you think L’Oreal Paris’ Excellence Crème ‘Ambassador of Fashion’s’ concept of amalgamating fashion and beauty trends will influence the beauty industry?
Fashion and beauty go hand in hand and cannot be understood in isolation. Together they create art, which we fall in love with and admire on a daily basis. The ‘Ambassador of Fashion’ is unique and will set the trend for more collaborations and projects, which highlight the union we often take for granted,
-How was your experience as the creative director for the Excellence Crème’s Legends’ Collection photo-shoot?
Invigorating and exciting because it’s not every day to get to recreate legends for L’Oreal Paris!
-From your experience, what was unique about the photo-shoot for L’Oreal Paris Excellence Crème’s Legends’ Collection?
There was such an intricate thought-process behind the whole campaign. Spreading the message of being legendary is both unique and effective and I think will relate to women all over.
-What new opportunities will the ‘Ambassador of Fashion’ program open up stylists and designers?
It will allow for more collaborations and projects that take-on a unique nature be it recreation, reinvention, or innovation.
