Every year comes around the glorious time of fashion week when designers get cracking on creating exquisite collections to set the trends for the upcoming bridal season. PFDC and L’Oréal collaboratively brought us the fifth Bridal couture week of its kind with the finest designers as well as giving newbies a chance to showcase their debuts.

Let’s start off with some of my faves from the black carpet.

♥ LUST LIST ♥

The Black Carpet

Day 1-

Best Dressed Day 1

(L to R) Aden Rehan, Mohsin Ali, Meesha Shafi , Samina Khan, Haiya Bokhari.

Best dressed is Aden Rehan in a super chic all black ensemble with a pop of colour added by the aztec inspired detail with minimal accessories. Her ensemble was by Zonia Anwaar and fact is you can NEVER go wrong with black.

Mohsin Ali’s vintage, Beetles themed sunglasses caught my eye and he pulled together his laid back “I rolled outta bed and threw on a pair of ripped jeans and a tee” look with a printed blazer.

At first I was like… is that a shararah? I still cannot figure out exactly what’s going on with Meesha’s outfit from MUSE BUT the metallic belt accentuates her waist and something about the complete look just works.

Samina Khan’s played it simple with contrasting silhouettes in different shades of white HOWEVER I believe the trousers could have been slightly altered to not sweep the floors. Nonetheless it was refreshing to see something slightly more contemporary.

Super duper funky and daring, Haiya Bokhari’s colourful dress by 9Lines and rebellious braided hairstyle were a perfect duo.

Day 2-

Day 2 Black Carpet

(L to R) Maliha Aziz, Ania Fawad, Yousaf Shahbaz, Aden Rehan, Momina Sibtain.

Maliha Aziz’s ensemble designed by her mother, Couture powerhouse Farah Talib Aziz on the second day was absolutely STUNNING. Keeping it simple with shades of white and silver she maintained focus on her outfit rather than playing around with accessories that could have overpowered the look.

Stylist by day blogger by night, Ania Fawad played it monochrome in a sophisticated maxi skirt. Personally, I am drooling over her super-cute dipped strawberry purse!

Ladies and gents, when one says “it’s all about the details” we don’t necessary mean “accessories”. Accentuating a classic white shirt’s sleeves with pleats, a simple dragon fly on his shoes and the oh-so-subtle draping on his trousers, Yousaf has suddenly made it all about finesse. To some, this may be a little too overboard but I LOVE the look!

This girl’s on a roll! Aden Rehan dropped jaws in Jeem by Hamza Bokhari and stuck to all gold. The crop top works with embellished bell-trousers (THANK HEAVENS They are not sweeping the floor!).

Momina Sibtain’s Nida Azwer outfit is another example of how a pull over can make ripped jeans and a t-shirt black carpet appropriate with on-fleek accessories!

PBW Day 3 black carpet

(L to R) Sarwat Gillani, Juggun Kazim, Nomi Ansari, Hadiqa Kiyani, Shireen Rehman.

Maxi skirts are hot this season and the sheer detailing on Sarwat’s high waisted number paired with a lightly dazzled crop top is the perfect duo. Simplicity at its best.

From runway to black carpet, Juggun Kazim took one of my FAVOURITE runway looks fromThe House Of Kamiar Rokni and paired it with a white top to tone it down flawlessly although to be honest I am not loving her accessories.

Nomi Ansari, the couturier who always steals my heart, sporting a classic black sherwani and velvet loafers – effortless, classic and everlasting picks.

Saris are the soul of bridal couture and this was the only look I found of someone wearing one (surprisingly….). Hadiqa paired her timeless Nida Azwer Saari with a contemporary clutch and some dangly earings from Maghul, a subtle way to jazz up an everlasting look.

EEEEPPP the cutest of them all! Pintsized PR-ista wearing all black with an embellished Farah Talib Aziz net jacket that adds the right amount of glamour to her outfit.

So whose looks did you love this PLBW?
